Laura Wiggs works for Rehab Without Walls, Harris Health System, as a member of the Neurological Residency Program, and also has a private practice. She is also on staff with United Spinal Association Houston where she is the Director of Outreach.

Laura received a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the School of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas, in 1991.

Laura is board-certified by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a clinical specialist in neurological physical therapy. She is also a certified brain injury specialist, and is Neuro-Developmental Treatment–certified. Her professional activities include committee membership in the Texas Physical Therapy Association and membership of APTA and the APTA Neurology Section.

In addition to her clinical activities, Laura has been a guest lecturer for the UTMB School of Health Professionals since 2002. She has lectured nationally and internationally on topics such as Predicting Functional Outcomes, Comprehensive Management of Adults With Traumatic Brain Injury, Managing the Agitated Patient and Hypertonicity Management, and Treatment of the Young Stroke Survivor. She has published several articles on the subject of hypertonicity in peer-reviewed journals, including Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation. Laura is also a reviewer for Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
