Cindy Ivanhoe, MD, is Chief Medical Office of Mentis Neuro Rehabilitation and an admitting physician to the Brain Injury and Stroke Program at TIRR-Memorial Hermann, in Houston, Texas. She is Director of the spasticity program—Spasticity and Associated Syndromes of Movement (SPASM)—at TIRR-Memorial Hermann.

Dr. Ivanhoe is also a Clinical Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

Dr. Ivanhoe completed her fellowship in Brain Injury Rehabilitation through Baylor College of Medicine at the Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR).

In addition to her many clinical commitments, Dr. Ivanhoe has trained many US and international premed students, medical students, residents, and fellows in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She has published on brain injury rehabilitation in many textbooks and has lectured nationally and internationally on diverse topics related to spasticity management, medical complications of brain injury, and the neuropharmacology of brain injury treatment.

Dr. Ivanhoe has served on the Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (“Concussion”) and Spasticity Task Forces of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is also on the Medical Advisory Board of the Houston Area Parkinson Society and the Educational Committee of We Move, a nonprofit organization providing educational materials for physicians and individuals with movement disorders. She currently serves on the Advisory Council of ReelAbilities Houston Film & Arts Festival, which celebrates the stories and talents of people with disabilities.
